POLICE have appealed for information following the theft of hundreds of pounds from bedrooms at a Southport hotel – after the robber helped himself to breakfast using one of the victim’s room numbers.
Merseyside Police issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with their investigation into the crime at the Royal Clifton Hotel on the resort’s Promenade.
Inspector Susan Stribling said: “During a two hour period spent inside the hotel, the man has accessed various floors, had the audacity to enjoy his breakfast in the hotel restaurant using the victims’ room number and then went on to steal £645 and a number of bank cards from two of the guests’ hotel rooms.
“We believe that this man could be a travelling around the area and would appreciate anyone with information to come forward so we can stop him from committing any further burglaries.
