Lake District 18th Century inn with pub and brewery on the market for £2m

strands hotelTHE Strands Hotel with the Screes Inn and its micro-brewery in Nether Wasdale near Seascale, Cumbria, is on the market with an asking price of £2m for the properties.

Originally built as a hotel and post house, many of the original features remain with log fires and wooden beams throughout both buildings.

The Strands Hotel benefits from 14 individually designed en suite bedrooms, lounge bar, and restaurant, in addition to a three bedroom owner’s accommodation.

Current owners Mark and Lesley Corr purchased the hotel after falling in love with the 18th century inn during their first visit to the village.

In 2007, Mark opened an on-site microbrewery and recently opened the brewery shop.  Last year, they purchased the Screes Inn pub with a further eight en-suite letting rooms.

Keith Stringer, director at  specialist business property adviser Christie & Co, said:“Visitors to the area are sure to be impressed by the quality of both freeholds and the brewery and the sale represents a perfect opportunity to further build on the current owners’ success as they plan a well-earned retirement.” @copy NewspaperTimes - All rights reserved
