Trainees will be given a uniform and assigned mentors in the city’s four-star Best Western Premier Collection Richmond Apart Hotel (pictured). They will also receive specialist Best Western Customer Service and Lavazza Branded Barista training.
The intensive course will include education sessions from a fully-qualified higher education tutor, as well as a brand-new curriculum, designed by the Know Hospitality team, in conjunction with delivery partners HIT Training.
Andi McGregor, Talent Acquisition Director for The Know Collection and course leader, said: “This is a real opportunity for those wanting to explore the world of hospitality and to find out what it’s really all about.
“There are so many different opportunities for so many different talents and this is a great way to ignite hidden passion within our young recruits for the myriad of roles.”
Trainees will conduct 100 hours on-the-job training and meals will be provided during the course as well as travel expenses.
Those wishing to apply must be aged 16 or above, and available from November 6 through to December 6, when the graduation lunch will take place at The Richmond. The aim of the course is to place the individual into work or an apprenticeship in hospitality at the end.
Know Collection CEO, Steven Hesketh, who is also Treasurer of the Liverpool Hotelier Association, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing the applications and nurturing those coming through to really get a true feel for how great of a career hospitality can be.
“With the help of our peers and contacts throughout the city, if we aren’t able to place them, we certainly have dozens of hotels and restaurants that possibly could. This is a rare opportunity we hope the young people in the city embrace – we truly want them to be inspired to get hired!”
Graham Knott, Regional Operations Manager at HIT Training, added: “We’re delighted to work alongside the Know Collection to set up this innovative training program. Hospitality is an exciting industry to work in and offers so many opportunities for life-long careers.
At HIT Training, we’re passionate about helping people find the right role for them and this four-week academy does just that for the people of Merseyside.”
