It was purchased by Raju Handa of OPH Hotels who is adding the 37-bedroom conference and banqueting venue to his portfolio which includes The Dean Hotel and Quarterz Serviced Apartments, both in Chester.
Martin Davis, Director of the Hotels and Leisure Team at Manchester’s GVA office, said: “I’m delighted to have completed on the sale of another hotel on behalf of our client Zaman Hotels.
“This established and well-located property provides a fantastic opportunity for the new owners to enhance and further develop trade.
“The deal was arranged by way of a relatively low-key marketing campaign which demonstrates the continued demand for good quality hotel assets in the north of England.
“This transaction may be of interest to other hotel owners who would like to consider selling their hotels but are concerned of the affect that the process of finding a buyer may have on their business.”
New owner Raju Handa added: “The hotel is well positioned to take advantage of busy mid-week corporate trade as well as weekend leisure business and fits in well with our other businesses in the North West.
“We are very excited about the future opportunity that this property will offer our business moving forwards.”
