Work has already started to transform the building on Folkestone Road that was formerly occupied by the Pageant pub.
Features will include a children’s cinema room and dedicated play area, covered veranda and enhanced outdoor seating options as well as an open fire-pit and large bar area.
Hickory’s Smokehouse owner Neil McDonnell said: “We are absolutely delighted to be launching our latest restaurant here in Southport.
“We have been meeting with local people and getting to know the local community to help us find out just what it is they would like their new neighbourhood bar and restaurant to offer – so our plans are constantly evolving based on their valuable feedback.
“Our sister sites across the North West have been embraced wholeheartedly by the local community so we are really excited about opening another site here in beautiful Southport.”
Hickory’s Smokehouses currently operates six sites including in Chester, Wirral, North Wales and the Midlands.
