Marston’s recruiting 45 staff for new pub the Old Duke in Southport

the old dukeMARSTON’S Inns is creating 45 new full and part-time jobs at its new pub the Old Duke scheduled for opening in October.

Applications are being taken for roles including bar and waiting on staff, chefs, kitchen assistants, kitchen porters and cleaners.

Manager Mark Toft said:“We are looking for some truly passionate people to join us here. It is an exciting time as we are getting close to opening and I can’t wait to welcome the new team members on board as we are all like one big family here so it’s great we can add to this.”

The pub (see artist’s impression) is named after the nickname of “Duke” William Sutton, one of the resort’s founders, and will specialise in chargrilled steaks and burgers, with hand stretched, stone baked pizzas and traditional pub dishes off the main menu.

All new employees will complete a comprehensive training programme.  Additionally, through the Marston’s Inns and Taverns career path modern apprenticeships and NVQ’s are available.
