Leading real estate advisory firm GVA has advised on the leasehold acquisition of the 1,650 sq ft 53 King Street Manchester for retained clients Taberu.
GVA’s Retail, Hotel and Leisure team assisted Taberu in securing what will be the first of a chain of high-end venues specialising in bao, Chinese steamed buns.
A further two branches of Taberu are planned Manchester next year, followed by three in Leeds and three in Liverpool over the next three years.
YU and You in the Ribble Valley achieved fame two years ago when it was declared the best Chinese restaurant in the UK by Gordon Ramsay.
The restaurant is run by brothers Victor and Vinny Yu, who founded the business with father Charlie, specialising in “creating modern Chinese cuisine with a traditional but contemporary twist.”
James Ratcliffe of the GVA Retail, Hotels and Leisure team said: “Taberu will be an exciting new addition to King Streets leisure offering. Its prime city centre location is an ideal place for the brand to launch in Manchester.
“A further two branches will be arriving in Manchester next year followed by a Leeds and Liverpool roll out, so the acquisition of King Street marks the start of a very exciting journey for Taberu.”
