With more than 22 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, including as manager of the Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, he is taking over the job during a year of significant developments for the hotel.
“It’s truly a privilege to be asked to lead an exceptional team at such an iconic hotel.,” said Wayne-Willis (pictured).
“Having been away from Manchester for a few years it has been a real pleasure to see how the hotel has continued to develop but also how the city has changed and grown in that time, particularly the hotel and restaurant sector.”
In addition to bedroom upgrades throughout the year, there will be developments within the hotel’s food and beverage offering.
The Tea Room at The Midland will be a dedicated space for afternoon tea and is scheduled for an April opening, following the refurbishment of Adam Reid at The French.
Michael Purtill, managing director of owner QHotels, said: “We understand the importance of The Midland Hotel to Manchester and the responsibility of the role of General Manager, so Christopher was a natural appointment.”
