It was purchased for an undisclosed sum by Tom Thornton-Brookes who has managed the venue for the past two years and will remain as general manager.

With its gilded mirrors, fringed retro table lamps, velvet drapes, padded walls and intricately etched wooden panelling separating clusters of Chesterfield sofas, the decor is evocative of a Thirties speakeasy.
