The £6,500 scoff!
CHEF Paul Heathcote will cook for pop stars Westlife after they ‘bought’ him at a charity auction.
The restaurateur, who owns the Olive Press on Winckley Square, Preston and The Longridge Restaurant, put himself under the hammer as part of an auction which raised money for a number of charities.
The band’s Shane Filan and Nicky Byrne bid £6,500 to get the chef to cook for them.
The event raised more than £200,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, day centre Beechwood Centre in Stockport and the Adopt-A-School Project, which takes chefs into underprivileged schools to teach children about healthy eating.
Paul joked: “I have told them that I want a private jet over there if they are expecting me to go and see them in Ireland.
“I have put myself up for auction at these kind of things before and been bought by people like the cast from Coronation Street, but never mega pop-stars like these. It should be a good laugh.”
